Wadhurst & District

In April 2026, 21 members enjoyed a visit to Crossness Pumping Station in South East London. Master-minded by Joseph Bazalgette, this superb Grade I listed site dates from 1865 and is part of London's first major sewage system. Crossness is famous for its remarkable engineering and magnificent architecture. A true monument to Victorian vision, ambition and ingenuity.
