Life writing is a fluid term used to describe the recording of selves, memories & experiences, whether one's own or another's.

We are a group of eight whose aim is to write stories of our lives, for ourselves, and for the next generation. We have a very loose remit and never know what surprises the next session will bring: we have had poems and short stories, mirth and melancholy. We have been transported from fruit-farming in Sussex to prawn fishing in the Gulf of Carpentaria, from Christmas in Manilla when the chimney caught on fire, to dancing the floral dance in Devon.

We've written about our teachers, our first jobs, and journeys - a walk of a mile to school, or a 64 day overland odyssey to India.

There has been a variety of animals, including a spooky cat, a (possibly) radio-active sea-mouse and a favourite pig.

It is undoubtedly the sharing of such an extraordinary variety of lives
and experiences that is so rewarding.
