Our series of visits to buildings of historic interest continues with a coach trip to Walmer Castle in Kent. This magnificent Tudor coastal artillery fort was built by Henry VIII in the 1530s and later transformed into the elegant official residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. Today, it’s known for its beautifully preserved historic rooms, its links to the Duke of Wellington, and its expansive formal gardens and woodland, enhanced by stunning views overlooking the English Channel.
