Our new u3a Jazz, Unbound starts on 11th November and will explore the rich and diverse spectrum of jazz music. From seminal 1920s recordings through the golden eras of swing, bebop, and fusion to contemporary 2020s releases, the group's listening sessions will cover a broad range of sub-genres designed to spark friendly conversation and accommodate everyone's musical preferences. Whether you are a lifelong jazz enthusiast or simply curious to expand your musical horizons, you will be welcome.
Looking ahead, we hope to add activities such as themed listening sessions and exploration of different jazz styles from their cultural, social and political contexts. It may even be possible to arrange live music outings to iconic London clubs such as Ronnie Scott's, Pizza Express, and the 606 Club as well as local venues like Pantiles, Frant Church, and the Red Lion, Rusthall.
Please join us to share your favourite tracks, discover new sounds, and help shape the future of this new group.
